The Golden Bean has been running successfully now for seventeen years in Australia and is in its sixth year in North America. It is one of the key elements in the growth of the coffee industry by way of rewarding the coffee roasters, the vital person in the chain for all coffee businesses.
After we have received your entry we will send you Golden Bean entry instructions, conference information as well as ten Golden Bean coffee bags for you to send back to us filled with your coffee bean entries.

To become the overall Golden Bean Champion, and take home a custom Reg Barber made Golden Bean Trophy, roasters need to enter a coffee into three categories:
Espresso
Milk-Based
Filter
Winners of categories 4, 5, 6 & 7 are awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, but scores do not contribute to Overall Champion.
New for 2021, we now have a Chain Store champion that combines the scores for Chain Store Milk and Chain Store Espresso to crown the overall Chain Store Champion.

The Engine Room is a closed room, separate to the judging area and will consist of:
• Head Barista to manage the Engine Room
• 3 x espresso coffee production stations
• 3 x Fiamma Astrolab Multiboiler
• 2 x professional baristas per machine
• 1 x grinder per machine
• Pre-coded bags i.e. blind tasting process
